Crushing the euro nymphing around both the Fall & the Deschutes River. Love the Reddington road and reel. The feel and action on the pole is amazing, the reel is very smooth with a great disc drag that is easy to adjust. Overall I’m super happy with the combo, can’t beat it for the price.
Bought this deal to try tight lining nymphs for trout. I swapped out the leader and put a mono rig on it and it’s my GO TO rod for trout now. Yes I was skeptical about what it could handle, but while practicing throwing streamer for accuracy in a farm pond, I hooked into a 5+ pound largemouth. I don’t know if I’m more impressed with the rod or the reel. When I say SMOOTH, I mean like butter!! The drag system and reel itself is worth WAY more than it sells for. The rod was literally almost in a circle, but had enough back bone to get the fish in. I’m about to pull the Euro line and add some WF line incase I want to spool the mono rig and fish it like a conventional fly rod. I would definitely buy again from Fin and Fire and would most definitely recommend this Redington Combo to anyone, it’s a trout catching machine!
Handles well and the precision is spot on. The reel is great and the action is sensitive and I can detect strikes easily. Spend the money at this shop! Save more for flies and other gear! I have already caught a few dozen fish on this rod.
First Euro rod, took a little getting used to but was landing fish first day. Very responsive rod and I appreciated the combo kit to get into the euro style. Fast shipping and as described!

The Redington euro field kit does exactly what is designed to do, high quality for an introduction rod/reel combo, it feels really good in the hand. It is far more sensitive to the river bottom and takes than previous tight lining on my 9' 5wt.

Completely new to this style of fishing, so I can't compare this setup to others. What I can say is that this combo offers an easy way to try tight line nymphing at a reasonable price point. Compared to buying the pieces separately, they pretty much give you the rod for free. This gear plus a lot of YouTube has allowed me to pull a bunch of (so far mostly small) fish out of pockets I otherwise would have walked right past.

The incredible value for the Sale price of $169. While I have a collection of Sage and Orvis 4-8 weight setups, I wanted a dedicated Euro nymph combo. The quality of the medium action 10 foot rod and a fully setup 3/4 weight Run reel with Rio Euro line, leader and tippets exceeded my expectation at this price point.

I bought this kit at an incredible price, making it possible to experiment with Euro-Nymphing. I only found out, after the fact, that the reason for the sale was that Redington discontinued the product due to new releases. This would not have affected my decision, but it would have been nice if that had been announced on the product page here. I have used the rod only once so far, and I am inexperienced with the technique. It certainly worked better than my regular rod equipped with a Rio shorty and euro leader. I did catch a few, but my technique needs work. Certainly, at this price ($170), I consider this an ideal learning setup, and I won't need anything more expensive until improved technique and knowledge expose potential shortcomings. Shipping was fast and efficient.
