If you are just looking to dip your toe in the water and could you use a little help on starting out this is the class for you. We will talk about gear, learn two basic knots, and show you a little bit about the bugs we use. We will also help you learn to rig up and cast a fly rod. What would normally take you many days of trial and error and diving into internet rabbit holes will take 2 hours. We tailor the class to your needs, and we generally meet you at Cline Falls State Park in the late afternoon. We can provide any needed gear. Call the shop to book Fly Fishing 101.
$125 per person for 2 hours (2 person maximum)
Fly Fishing 101 is available from March 15th through October 31st.
Think of a school without walls on the banks of the beautiful Crooked River where some of the best trout fishing in the Northwest is available. Trout School 101 is designed for the person who has never fly fished up to the intermediate angler. We hold this 5-hour session on the Crooked River about 45 minutes from the shop. Our Trout School incorporates everything taught in the Fly Fishing 101 class but adds in 3 hours of guided fishing time on the Crooked River. This class is a great option for the family, corporate groups looking for a ½ day activity, or for individuals looking to improve their skills. There are no guarantees in fly fishing but there's a very good chance you will catch a few fish on this trip. We can provide any and all gear including rods and reels, waders and boots and flies for no additional charge. This trip usually needs a few days advanced notice to book. Call the shop to book the Trout School.
Trout School 101 is available from March 15th through October 31st.
