A fully-redesigned frame and spool are highlights of the new Animas. Great Reels !
Purchased the animas 5/6 to put on my CTS Affinity X. The blank is a dark green with gold flake so I figured the animas would match perfectly and it does. It is the absolute lightest 6wt reel and I cannot wait to put it to the test. Amazing reel, and the customer service from Fin and Fire is exceptional, reel was shipped to my door in less than 3 days. Amazing

Great company. Ross reels have always been my favorite. Taking this beauty to CO in a couple weeks. Fin and Fire is an excellent company with quick turnaround and helpful employees. I’ve bought from them many times and will continue to do so… even living in TN.

Bought the reel, had backing put on along with SA camo intermediate line. Waiting for ice to come off so I can use it. Great service and customer service as well.

Unfortunately, most fly-fishing waters in Alaska are ice right now, so really hard to test the Ross Animas 7/8, on real fish. Plan is to match the reel to the G-Loomis, 7 wt., NRX +. Hopefully a real reel review soon.
That is a very nice reel light plant to buy other one later
They were very flexible with a return as I ordered the wrong size. Couldn’t be more satisfied.
My only knock is it’s physicality, I would prefer it to be a little smaller given the likelihood it will be fished down as a 5wt.
