I absolutely love my trout spay rod. Turned a couple and caught a beautiful red band on the Metolius. Took me a while to get the correct rhythm but when you do boy , that line shoots out like nothing else.
Chris hooked me up yesterday with this sweet 11’3” inch 4wt rig! He told me that it casts like a 15k rod/reel set up. I was a little skeptical, however a few hours later the rod delivered on the Lower D! Staff at Fin and Fire are top notch!

This rod is a riot and it’s so fun handling big trout! I recommend getting a full float line for it if you like to fish indicator rigs with it as well. For the full combo, you can’t beat this deal!

I’ve been a huge fan of the Spey-style casting for many years now, but until recently, I wasn’t convinced to get into it. After many articles, videos and fly shop visits, I made a random shopping search and found Fin and Fire’s deal on the Redington Trout Spey kit. I didn’t think twice and ordered it. It took me a few days to get the hang of it, but now I’m hooked. So far, I’ve used it about 5 times and I’m pretty confident I can jump from jumbo rainbows to feisty Steelhead. Thank you for finally connecting me to a fishing dream that has grown over the years.

I was pleasantly surprised with this setup everything I needed to get into trout Spey I noticed only one thing if I pushed to hard it didn’t cast very well but when I slowed down it was unbelievable ! it just shot the line out perfect! Even with my Heavy lead eye Leach 60 foot cast with ease!

This is a very good beginners set up! Hard to beat for the price! I bought this to learn the basics of spey casting, comes all set up so you can concentrate on technique. Excellent quality Rod and Reel with high Quality line. Ive only used it twice, but am already getting some nice casts and have caught a few fish with it!

I haven't had the opportunity to put er on the water yet but everything feels like the quality is a little higher than I was expecting.
I'm a 74 year old veteran who has been a fly fisherman since my dad put my first bamboo fly rod into my hands on my 10th birthday. I own a LOT of fly rods and fly reels; my Redington Fieldkit 11' 3" 4WT rod and reel being my latest! I live in Southwestern Oregon, one block from a river that sees LOTS of trout, Cutthroat included, and salmon, and all I have to do is put on my waders, my boots, my fly vest, my lucky hat, walk out my front door, and less than 10 minutes later I'm casting a fly on my favorite river! I haven't had Red (my first Redington fly rod!) long enough to form a relationship with it, but my first impressions are very good ones! It's one of those rods you instantly feel comfortable holding and casting, because it just feels RIGHT! To my way of thinking ... and fly fishing ... that's just about the only thing that really matters! My favorite fly rods are the ones I've had the longest. And yes, I still have the fly rod my long gone father gave me when I was ten! It's been rebuilt a few times ... stripped down and recoated, new guides, new cork, but it still feels the same in my right hand at 74 that it did when I was 10! It feels RIGHT! Red and I are on our way to a life-long relationship ... albiet a much shorter one than my first rod and I have had. That's okay, though, because variety IS the spice of life!
