A 3" color touchscreen with glove-friendly design lets you use your Garmin handheld GPS while keeping your digits warm, and lets you send unit-to-unit text messages to other Rino users in your area—ideal for when you don't want to disturb wildlife or when you're in loud or windy conditions. You can also share waypoints, tracks, routes, and geocaches wirelessly with other compatible Garmin handheld devices. The included, worldwide, shaded-relief basemap combines with available Garmin marine and road maps through the microSD™ card slot and free Custom Maps software to transform paper and electronic maps into downloadable maps. IPX7-rated waterproofing ensures your Garmin Rino outperforms downpours, snowfall, and water submergence. Battery life can exceed 14 hrs. in the field, and the dual battery system lets you use the included rechargeable lithium-ion power pack or AA battery pack (sold separately). Turn your laptop into a field command center for tracking multiple Rino units with Garmin BaseStation software that lets you view real-time GPS information on your laptop's larger screen while the Rino serves as the router and antenna.
