Added another brookie to the quiver. Super lightweight and super fun reel to fish. Not a very loud audible click which is nice to me personally so if you’re looking for a loud clicking reel, it’s not for you. Beautiful, simple, and lightweight.
Craftsmanship is top notch, amazingly light. I have mine on a 10’ 4wt NFC blank I built. It’s not a perfect match because my rod is very tip heavy but this is one of my favorite reels of all time. Definitely not going to be my last Galvan.
When shopping for reels on zero weight rods, diameter, weight, and capacity are your challenges. This reel wins all 3 categories. This is my second Galvan Brookie 0/1 for my newest Zero wt Sage Dart rod. Keep it up Galvan, USA made!
In my opinion, there is not a better 2 weight reel than the Galvan Brookie. The reel is a quality piece that has been well thought out. The simple drag works well and helps keep the reel super lightweight. In fact, I have not come across a lighter reel for your 2 weight rod than this reel. The design and available reel colors also make this reel very appealing to the eye. I fish a lot of small streams and my small stream arsenal contains 3 brookie reels.

This is my second Galvan reel and it is just as nice as the first. I put this 2/3 Brookie on a 5'8" Scott F. It is light enough to not feel like it is there. I really liked being able to fine tune the resistance. It's a small thing, but that is what the Galvan family do. Easy to palm and fit and finish is tight. Very muted incoming and outgoing sound, if that matters to you.

Great Click and Pawl! I love this reel and use it on a 2 wt Whisper Creek rod. It balances well, looks stunning and is really well built. You adjust the drag by removing the spool and using an allen wrench, bullet proof.
