Every now and then, we come across an artist whose work naturally fits Abel's palette of custom finishes. This time, that artist is Casey Underwood. Each of these original designs was created to correspond with a specific model in the Abel lineup.  On the SDS we have the Underwood Slammin!

Individually laser engraved, and put through a proprietary polishing/texturizing process, these reels feature an innovative, first of its kind finish. Though complicated, the process requires less time than our hand-anodized graphic finishes, allowing for a Base Price + $200 premium on gloss black, or + $300 on any solid color gloss finish reel.

Winner of the best new saltwater reel at the 2016 ICAST/IFTD show, the Abel SDS (Sealed Drag Salt) takes all the power, reliability, and smoothness of its smaller counterpart and combines them in a larger package capable of taking on saltwater gamefish of all sizes. A unique multi-disc drag system yields an industry leading 20+ pounds of braking power, and is completely sealed from the elements. Now available in 3 sizes from our Authorized Dealers, this makes the SDS perfect for fighting big bones on light tippet as well as providing the power needed to halt hard-fighting tarpon in their tracks.

Like any work of art, Abel Reels are hand painted master pieces and can vary ever so slightly from one beautiful reel to another.
Also, please take into consideration that colors can vary from mobile phones, computer monitors and cameras when viewing a custom fish graphic picture on our website.
At Fin & Fire, we try to represent the truest rendering of these reel colors and use reel graphics take directly from Abel Reel’s website.

If you purchase backing, at the time of the reel [11/12 only] purchase, we will create a "Bimini Knot" to connect the backing to the fly line.

If you prefer a different knot you must include those specific details in the checkout note section. Please be aware this may delay the shipment of the reel.
