I broke these boots in on a weeklong surf fishing trip that involved many hours in rough water and sand. I am extremely impressed with both the materials and the construction of the boots. I wore them over stocking foot waiters in a size 13, which was the second size I tried. Size 12 was slightly short for me over the stocking feet of my waiters, but I would still say that the boots are relatively right sized. IOW, I typically wear size 12-13 or an EU size 46. I have a narrow foot but I would not say that the boot design is “narrow.” (Incidentally, my size 12 return experience with Finn and Fire was also excellent.) They dry out quickly with nothing but sun and a breeze. No part of them seems to get waterlogged creased, and the soles were just fine for my purpose without any lugs. I have not used these on river rock yet, but knowing SIMS, the addition of lugs should do just fine and these might also replace my current Patagonia wading boots for that purpose. Overall, I think they represent a good value based on the “buy once - cry once” approach. The boots also offer excellent ankle support, much much better than the cheaper alternative I have used successfully in the past… oversized Converse All-Stars!
