Patagonia M's Swiftcurrent Wading Jacket

Built for Storms, Trusted on the Water

When conditions shift without warning and the river turns unforgiving, the Patagonia M's Swiftcurrent Wading Jacket stands ready. Designed for anglers who don’t turn back when the weather rolls in, this jacket delivers uncompromising waterproof protection, thoughtful storage, and mobility where it matters most. It’s a technical shell built to keep you focused on the next cast—not the storm overhead.

Patagonia Swiftcurrent Wading Jacket for Ultimate Weather Protection

At the core of the Swiftcurrent Wading Jacket is Patagonia’s H2No® Performance Standard 4-layer shell, built from NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon made from reclaimed fishing nets. This rugged construction offers reliable waterproof and breathable performance, while the PFAS-free DWR finish helps shed water and keep you dry through sustained rain and spray.

Every detail is dialed for fishing. The low-profile chest pockets are sized for fly boxes, while handwarmer pockets are positioned high for accessibility when wading deep. A fully adjustable, vented hood integrates seamlessly with the collar for full storm coverage, and watertight cuffs keep water from creeping up your sleeves during releases or when handling fish.

Finished with a streamlined, adjustable hem that reduces drag and sheds excess water, this jacket is built for efficiency, durability, and protection in the harshest conditions.

Customer photo review of Patagonia M's Swiftcurrent Wading Jacket

I replaced a really old SST jacket with this one and couldn’t be happier! Great fit and quality as always. First outing out was a rainy/sleety 28 degrees and the jacket performed flawlessly. Looking forward to many future days on the water with this one.

    Patagonia M's Swiftcurrent Wading Jacket

Very well made. Better cuffs than the Patagonia equivalent. What is egregiously lacking about this expensive jacket is loops or D-rings to attach nipper, hemostat, etc to. A major design flaw in an otherwise great jacket.

    Patagonia M's Swiftcurrent Wading Jacket

The jacket fits well when sizing up from regular size due to the need for layering. I can also wear it over a very small chest pack to protect it the rain. If worn without a light quilted jacket (Patagonia) underneath it's big, I usually wear a fishing rain jacket with layers. The only negative is the snap cuff closures. It's difficult to close the snaps while wearing the jacket. I just keep the snaps in place. The staff at Fin and Fire are always helpful.

I wore the wading jacket on a fishing trip for the past three days in East Tennessee, ant it served as a great shell over warm layers. We had no rain, so I couldn’t test it rain proofing, but I had my previous Patagonia wading jacket for 31 years and it worked perfectly for 30 years until it finally developed holes in the lining. I’m expecting similar performance from the new one.
