I believe the Battenkill click reels are absolutely a great value and a great reel. My Click III which I received a few days ago is as solid as my previous generation Battenkills, perhaps more so. And it is cosmetically nicer looking as well. A perfect fit for my spring creek fishing and light rods. Shipping was fast. I'm very pleased with my Battenkill and F&F Fly Shop.

The reel is just right for my 2wt rod. Bought backing - loaded on- and Rio line. The bonus was they loaded the line on the reel as well. A small favor but much appreciated.
Sweet C&P reel, super lightweight, perfect for my 4wt. Enjoyable in/out click. Adjusted the “drag” to get a little more tension on the line - working like a dream. Bummer it’s made in china, but I can’t drop $300+ on a comparable C&P reel so this will do great for the time being.
Orvis. Say no more!
I was looking for a small creek, click/pawl reel - so I went with the Battenkill I. Orvis has a solid reputation, so this was an easy choice. But for me, what is also important, is from where to buy. The folks at Fin and Fire are friendly, helpful, and provide excellent service. Not sure what my next purchase will be, but I know I will definitely be looking for it on the Fin and Fire site.
