From the trout streams of Montana and Idaho to Paul’s homewaters of the Deschutes and the Metolius, to chasing silver bullets wherever they may roam, Paul gets excited every time he hits the water. Growing up in Alaska his family fished every weekend during the summer.

Now many years later, fly fishing has become not just a hobby but a way of life. Through his camera lens and guiding anglers on the spectacular rivers here in Central Oregon, Paul loves sharing his passion for fish and their environment. Watching the excitement of others catch their first trout on a guided trip and helping customers in our world-class fly shop is something that Paul feels blessed to be a part of.

    Assistant Manager / Fishing Guide

Dave grew up tromping all around the state of Oregon, not always fishing but always exploring. His love of boating rivers landed him in Idaho guiding the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in the Frank Church Wilderness, guiding weeklong trips in the densest wilderness in the lower 48. That was over 2 decades ago.

Once Dave moved back to Oregon, he began guiding on the Sandy, and Clackamas rivers through Welches, learning from steelhead guides throughout the Northwest and now he’s quite the expert. Spending majority of his time on the lower Deschutes fishing and guiding for trout and summer steelhead, he and his wife decided to relocate to Central Oregon. Most days Dave is on the water, floating the local rivers or swapping stories of his fishing adventures from the Dean in British Columbia down to Belize chasing the Grand Slam. Dave finds himself to be very fortunate to be where he is in life. He has a great, supportive wife, good friends and a job he loves!

John is a retired educator and fly fishing extraordinaire. While the school year was reserved for teaching and coaching, summers were always reserved for fishing. Most notably, John guided most summers out of Dillingham, Alaska in the Wood Tickchik area. For more than 15 years now, John has been fishing the rivers and lakes of Central Oregon and is excited for the challenge fly fishing continually brings. He currently lives in Bend, with his beautiful wife Carol.

Daniel is as close as it comes to being a fish himself. Though his first love was surfing on the beaches off the coasts of California, he has since found the rivers of Central Oregon as a place to restore and replenish the soul.
With beginnings rooted in Tenkara and single hand fly rods, Daniel has since expanded his horizons to include two-handed rods primarily in the pursuit of the elusive steelhead. When not taking care of his sons Hudson and Bentley, or working on his Spey casts, Daniel can be found fishing on the myriad Central Oregon waters anticipating the next connection with one of nature’s extraordinary creatures. On most weekends, you can find Daniel on the shop floor as he’s an excellent resource for customers interested in adding to their rod quiver or picking out flies for the river.

Born, raised and currently residing in Bend, Oregon I didn't find Fly Fishing until I traveled the world as a World Cup Downhill Mountain Bike mechanic. From Africa, to the Alps, down to South America I began to hear about people traveling from far and wide to my home town of Bend, Oregon simply to fly fish our local waters. They would speak of searching for elusive Steelhead, running out of backing on Bull Trout and spending countless air miles trying to time the Salmon Fly hatch. Truly it wasn't until I traveled a far that I was able to come home and fall in love with our precious waters and habitats for not only wild fish but for fly fishermen alike.

Since those early moments of learning to read water and swing a fly, I feel as though the connection I have with my surroundings has never been stronger. I feel that with that connection I have become and ambassador to not only the sport as a guide, but as a steward to the environment. The rush of skating a fly in front of a Steelhead and watching the violent take only helps to drive home the passion of protecting what is wild and preserving that for generations to come.
